Called Shepherd’s looking to rent a Uhaul. He was adamant he was the only store in town that had one available and was extremely rude over us considering somewhere else. Decided to make our reservation with him anyways (should have known better). We showed up to pick up our rental and he told us he couldn’t rent to us because his power had just went out. Not something we could exactly get mad about but it was extremely inconvenient and he offered no help. We decided to try to wait for the power to come back on and once it did, he was still not prepared for the process. His printer didn’t work, his mouse quit working, and his system was very obviously not up for doing the job it needed to. Got our rental eventually, used it, came back and returned it and he refused us a hard copy of our receipt and said he’d email it. He NEVER emailed us and was completely rude through the entire process. I will NEVER rent from him again. I’m all for supporting smaller businesses, hence why we tried to stick with him. But this was just plain awful customer service.
I wish I could rate this lower. I reserved a 26' foot truck for a move, but it was not available. Very little information provided. I was told "the person is turning it in late". Tried to follow up call twice with the owner and he wouldn't answer. Terrible customer service. Never heard another word. Moving crew had to improvise. Avoid at all costs.
Super great help, thought I was going to be disappointed. Had to wait a minute to pick up the truck. However the owner was super helpful and got be a better deal than Uhaul online.
